Duplicacy for Windows 11 and Windows 10 — Setup Guide

Setup Duplicacy on Windows 11 or 10: install, local Web dashboard, source folder, independent backup storage and restore validation.

Short answer:

On Windows, install the appropriate Duplicacy Web Edition package, open the local dashboard, configure Storage first, then create a Backup job and verify a restore.

Windows setup sequence

  1. Confirm your Windows architecture and select the correct installer on the developer's download page.
  2. Start Web Edition, create a strong master password, then open its local management UI.
  3. Choose a source folder and a destination on a separate disk or cloud account.
  4. Run a small initial job, then select Restore and recover a file to a test folder.

Windows-specific precautions

Desktop paths can be redirected by OneDrive. Confirm whether the selected source contains real local files, not placeholders. Test open files and VSS behavior for applications that keep files locked. For unattended backups, review the Web Edition Windows service instructions.
